ARVets HR Conference was a fantastic success!
September 8th, 2016.
Our inaugural HR conference, held Sep. 8th, 2016 at the Clinton Presidential Center, was a smashing success. The collaboration at this event of the corporate sector, government agencies, and the veteran community ultimately began with individuals, many of whom are veterans, making a personal decision to invest in the economic future of Arkansas.
The conference was a success because HR pros and veterans took time out of their lives to participate in our event.
HR professionals, business owners, and veterans were given the option to participate in various different workshops related to recruiting, retention, military culture, and stigmas about mental health and veterans.
ARVets board member Laurie Lee, Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and ARVets CEO Nicole Hart.
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson stated that transferring veterans technical skills and maturity into the Arkansas workforce would strengthen the Arkansas economy. ARVets board member Laurie Lee spoke of the challenges she faced in transferring her skills as a Navy diver into the private sector while ARVets CEO Nicole Hart explained the advantages of ARVets Commitment-to-Hire program.
The staff at the Clinton Presidential Center were excellent!
ARVets thanks the staff at the Clinton Presidential Center whose professionalism helped our conference proceed smoothly. We also wish to thank the Arkansas Economic Development Council and Minority Report who generously donated to our event. Please call ARVets at (501) 246-5341 if you are an employer who is interested in hiring veterans and we look forward to seeing you next year at the 2nd Employing AR Veterans HR Conference
